Folk Medicine live circle and "Della Medicina" book club reminder!
Live Circle: Wednesday, May 21 @6PM EDT

This Wednesday (05/21 @6PM EDT ) is our second live circle! During our time together we will focus on the guiding topics below as well as allow for the discussion to take us to new places.
Folk medicine is accessed through social power structures and networks. The way power is distributed and how impact on systems (such as healthcare) vary greatly depending on the framework it operates in as well as how power is conducted through our systems.
Being aware of this can be a major tool of discernment when we are looking at healing methods within communities and how they relate to social, political, and economic factors for those who are in need of them as well as for practitioners.
Topics this month:
The distribution of power in healing systems
Accessiblity
The importance of “context”
Folk medicine and it’s role in antisystemic struggle (this was on the agenda for last time but we didn’t get to it)
Emergent herbalism and subcorporate medicine
How the sacred and spirituality have always been an integral component of folk medicine
As last time, I’ll do some short reading from my book “Della Medicina” as part of the sharing and have an open Q and A.
Because this is an informal and fluid, discussion based circle we may or may not get to everything on the agenda. It’s my intention to allow space for a generative flow of ideas.
Everyone is welcome to simply listen in or join the discussion!
These circles are accessible to anyone at the $8 per month subscription level. You can cancel anytime!
